DreamScaper Combat Development
So this is a short devlog explaining what's happening so far for the game.
For the past months, I've been mostly working on the visuals for the game.
Models, UI, Sound, Textures, Concepts, Enemies, Voice over.
It's been a lot for me, as it is just me on the development now. I had people who wanted to help, however, they no longer can or don't wish to.
Being busy at my job certainly didn't help, but now I can start getting back in the swing of things as I am now back in school.
To get started I wanted to make a simple combat system. I intially planned to have a bare bone moveset made functionally. I originally had animations from a pack I bought, and I tried to implement them into the control scheme.
Left Click for light attacks
Right Click for heavy attacks
They took a while but were functioning, so then I moved on to implementing the audio to the fighting. I had a good friend of mine voice some battle foley, for the character and had another friend voice an enemy that would've appeared.
I then made the attack sound effects myself, combing and mixing sounds from my own recordings and stock.
I made a dramatic-looking arena for the player to practice in, with complete music lighting, and surreal scenery.
This honesty should've not taken this long to get this done, as now I run into a critical problem. The animation for the attacks no longer works, so footage has no animation. It's been driving me up the wall, and trying to figure out why. However, there is no time until the due date, so I will fix it and a later time myself.
Overall a good learning experience, that allowed to be creative at a smaller scale. However, still very upset about this current problem.
